What information do you need to begin a contract?
We begin with a scoping session where you describe the nature of the transaction, the parties involved, and the key terms already discussed. From there, we identify any gaps and structure the document accordingly. You do not need to prepare a draft in advance.
How long does contract preparation typically take?
Most engagements are completed within five to ten working days following the scoping session, depending on the complexity of the arrangement. For NDAs and shorter agreements, turnaround is generally faster. We will confirm a timeline at the outset.
Are the fees fixed regardless of how many changes I request?
The quoted fee covers the preparation of the contract and the included revision rounds. If the scope of the work changes materially — for instance, if the transaction structure changes substantially — we would discuss any fee implications with you before proceeding.
Can you review a contract prepared by another party?
Yes. Contract review is part of our practice alongside drafting. If the counterparty has provided an initial draft, we can assess it, identify provisions that warrant attention, and recommend revisions for negotiation. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Do you handle contracts for businesses outside Singapore?
We prepare contracts governed by Singapore law and drafted with Singapore commercial practice in mind. If a contract involves parties or transactions in other jurisdictions, we can note relevant cross-border considerations, though advice on foreign law is outside our scope.
